Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your business hours?

A: November - April, our business hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday and 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturdays. May - October, our business hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday. Check out our Facebook @RamLeatherCare for special holiday hours.

Q: How much will it cost to clean my jacket?

A: Leather garments are a lot like people -- each one is a little different. The exact cost of your cleaning and refinishing can be determined after a careful inspection of your garment. Most garments fall within the range of $25 to $50.

Q: How long will it take?

A: Normal processing time is one week. However, you may want to avoid the "winter rush" and have your garments cleaned during the spring and summer months.

Q: Suede or leather -- what's the difference?

A: Suede and leather can be made of the same skin. The difference lies in the final finishing of the skins. Suede has a nap, and leather is finished without a napping process.

Q: Do you make repairs or alterations?

A: Yes! Ram Leather Care offers complete repairs and alterations of all kinds -- from a simple button replacement to a new lining, Ram does it all!

Q: Can you apply a protective coating to my suede and leather items?

A: Yes! We certainly can apply protective coatings. We strongly recommend applying water resist to not only your leather and/or suede jackets, but to your shoes, boots, purses, hats, furniture, or any item made of leather or suede. Unlike a water resist from a spray can which is applied with very low pressure, our water resist is applied at 90 pounds per square inch of pressure, allowing the water resist to penetrate the skin much more effectively.

Q: Can you change the color of my leather or suede coat?

A: It's best to stay with the original color of your garment. Ram can alter the color a little lighter or a little darker from the original color, but we cannot perform total color changes because the original garment material was dyed before it was made into a garment, and it is difficult to penetrate the seams of the garment with a new color.
